Question about upgrading 17 Studio beta 2

I read this about beta 5:
"Pre-Installation Note:
For those using DaVinci Resolve or DaVinci Resolve Studio on Windows, we strongly recommend uninstalling previous versions prior to installing 17 Public Beta 5 and higher versions. Going forward, all Fairlight, grading and editor keyboard firmware updates will be managed from the DaVinci Control Panels Setup utility."

Clear enough, and I have confirmation that uninstalling and reinstalling can be done with the "download only" option and it will remember my activation from before.

But when I started Resolve yesterday it popped up the usual message about "new version" and asked if I would install. This seemed easier than manually removing and installing. My question, will this option work fine and take care of the proper advised removal of the older version? I assume it will since it offered to to it this way? Just would like to be sure.

That notification doesn't actually install the new version, it simply downloads it obviating the need for you to go to the web site and download manually.

Install (with Uninstall first) will be the same for both.

Aha, thanks. I have never tried this option before so my thought was that it did the installation for me like many other SW do. Good to know.
