Audio issue

Hi all, I've been using Resolve to edit a music recording project and I've come across an issue regarding the syncing of audio.

Essentially I have 3 audio tracks (and 3 corresponding videos). The issue is not the syncing of video to audio - that is fine. For some reason, one audio track gradually gets slightly out of time, but the other two stay with each other. It's strange since the first few minutes are great, but then ever so slightly it does that. If it matters, I use a USB audio interface/Ableton to record audio - for two of the instruments I use microphones, and the other I use a guitar cable, all plugged into the audio interface.

I've tried going in and manually making the frame rate 30fps, but I don't see how this can be a frame rate issue since the video aspect is okay. I could be totally wrong though, so please correct me! I'm still a novice at this stuff. The timeline and playback frame rates do match.

Now, I am using my phone for video, which I know isn't the greatest. But again, shouldn't it not matter since this is purely audio based?

Thanks for the help!

Eric

I would advise against USB audio. It's about the worst connection there is.

A Zoom or Sound Devices recorder would be much better.

Your phone can be a part of the problem, since most phones don’t deliver a fixed frame rate.
You could give PluralEyes a try, it can fix such audio problems of getting asynchronous over time. They have a try-out version.

Jim, USB audio interfaces are the norm. Even Sound Devices use it.
