Is it possible to propagate timeline changes?

Hi

I am working on a complex project with large number of clips therefore I decided to apply the concept of the subproject-timelines (i.e. the master timeline holds several subproject timelines).

Master timeline: timeline1, timeline2, timeline3, etc...

What workflow would you suggest if I need to change the length of the e.g. timeline2?
Can it be made so that the length of timeline2 would propagate to the master timeline?

Thanks, regards,
Joc.

No, that's not possible. You'd have to manually Trim timeline 2 in the Master.

That said, I recommend working in one timeline. I think it's just easier, especially for audio.

Thanks for the clarification. I am still trying to get fully comfortable in Resolve and this help me understand what is possible and what not.

Yes, I also realised this.

I really like the "Source Tape" view available on the Cut page and I wanted to create separate timelines there...

What I do now is switch to Cut page, quickly preview media and insert it into master timeline, then switch back to Edit page where I rearrange clips and fine tune further. Doing that along with master audio also helps a lot.

Try staying in the cut page for clip arrangement and trimming, once u learn the operation there it’s quite fast, then go to edit for fine refinement if u wish
