Several issues with compound clips

First issue is that I can't split a transition between a movie clip and a compound clip. I have tried for 3 hours. I have 11 places I need this to work--going crazy, this should be easy.

Second when I add a wave file to a open compound clip and then go back to the timeline the wav is not showing, or playing. again, going crazy, this should be easy.

If I decompose in place I can split the transition but that wont work as I need the transition on all the clips that is why I made it a compound clip.

See pictures if I didn't explain well.

For the transitions to work, you'll need to include the necessary handles when you create the Compound, then trim the start point.

I can't duplicate your audio issue in Studio 17b5 for Windows. This works as expected.

And I don't understand why Device Resolve cant get them to work, they work fine in Premier.

am I missing something, is there another way to do this?

I have some test that fades in and out, with a live snow backgrounds, with a jpg background with a wav, all needs to be in one clip with one fade. this is very easy and work with no problem in premier, so how do I do this in Davinci resolve? maybe I am using the wrong thing, maybe something else besides compound clips?

And in the compound clip I have all set for a deration of 6 seconds. when its in the timeline its 5:27, I don't understand why there are so many issues with this and why it hasn't be fixed by now.

Again every time I try to use Davinci there are so many issues and again I have to go back to Premiere! I spend days trying to work through them all but I never win, plus I don't have time to do that.

Just like the sound, when are they going to add support for AISO drivers, Davinci Resolve crashes on me every 5 minutes because it wont use AISO and when I have all my other apps open working on sound in Studio One etc, Davinci crashes. I thought they would have fixed some of these issues in 17 but no. I cant wait till version 18 comes out as I really want to use Davinci.

So I final got the compound clips working by making them 8 seconds long and then trimming them by 1 second each end in the time line then the transitions went on. crazy....

If the clips in your Compound are 5 seconds long, and you want to add a transition, then the clips you start with need to be 6 seconds long.

You them trim down the 6 second Compound to 5 seconds, and you have enough handles for the transition.

ya I get this now, but that has only fixed it for all. I have tried everything on some of the others and I still cant insert a transition. Soooo frustrating, days of this and I am getting nowhere.

Those handles need to be on both sides, end of old clip and start of new clip.
