Is there a way to set render settings same as source?

In the deliver page there is an option that says: "bypass re-encode when possible"
How do you determine what settings to use for a render i.e. sometimes I work with mp4 source footage that only needs to cut out just a couple of pieces. It would be great if I could bypass re-encode for the large sections that are fine the way they are. But - as far as I can tell - there is no way to 'copy' the settings from those source files to the deliver page to set f.e. the custom export to be exactly the same.

So: is there way to do this?

in v16 and earlier it only worked with specfic codec's in YRGB project, and i don't think any long-gop codec were on the list

works amazingly well when it all lines up tho

For H.264 originals, I don't believe so.

ProRes, DNx, Cineform - that's the kind of thing the feature was designed for.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.
