Noob quest to bend my video

PostMon Dec 21, 2020 1:45 am

Hey guys.

I am a complete Resolve novice, and I need to create a rather simple (I suspect) effect, but my problem is that I don't even know the correct terminology to be able to do an intelligent search for it. I figured it'd be warping, but any videos on grid warping seem to be just bending eyeballs and making joker faces.

My very much quarantined choir, like a bazillion others, is doing a Virtual Choir thing, and I wanted to experiment with creating the "projected onto a curved screen" thing... like a bazillion others are doing.
Pitch & Yaw obviously don't help, and Fusion seems to be a couple years away from me. I don't understand even the tiniest bit of how that thing works yet. :?

If this has been covered in a previous post, I apologize and humbly ask to be pointed to that post.
Otherwise, can someone please tell me what I should even be searching for, and possibly point me in the direction of making it happen?

The Warper under ResolveFXWarp should get you there, it's not only for bulging faces.

Thanks Uli.

An 80 point warp seems like an overly complicated way to do what's essentially a two-way yaw over a center point, but I'll look into that further and try to understand it. :)

You may want to experiment with the lens distortions.
