Unsupported GPU Processing Mode

I just downloaded and installed the latest version of DaVinci.
When I run it the message "Unsupported GPU Processing Mode" appears and you get the option to quit or "update configuration."
When I go to Update Configuration I am at a total loss of what to enter to make it work.
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide...

What GPU do you have, AMD or Nvidia? Go to their websites and make sure you have an up to date driver.
Also check that, if using Windows, an update has not reset things. Have a look at the Memory and GPU page in Preferences to make sure your original settings are still there.
As an example, this is mine.

As a general rule, terms like "latest", "current", "newest", etc. are meaningless
It's best to list out the specific version number when asking for help.

Thank you for the response Charles,
All your suggestions make sense.
I will try them all and let you know.

Charles,
I have updated my NVIDIA drivers.. The Windows 8.1 device manager says working properly. However DaVinci stills gives the same error.
I noticed in the Sample settings you sent me, The graphics card (I see you have a Nvidia card also) has a check mark in the little box....
Mine has my Card listed twice, both being grayed out, saying unknown device. I cannot change anything or check any boxes.
Hmmmmmm, can you think of anything else?

Whew! PROBLEM SOLVED
This all started when I downloaded and installed the new update, 17.ob5 .
I deleted it and went back to 17.0b3. It works fine... no error message
It appears to be a bug in 17.0b5.
Thanks for your input...

You really need to be using Windows 10 as 8.1 is not supported and you may have odd things happen such as a Resolve version not loading or running properly. I've not had a problem with any of the betas under Win 10.

Thank you Charles.... I had a bad experience with Windows 10 when they gave it away free. It would not uninstall and crashed my computer... a total crash. I was really p*%$. I knew I would be forced into it eventually...maybe now is the time to try again... Thanks again for your help...
