Audio issues 17.1 studio no output

PostMon Dec 21, 2020 12:33 pm

I had to re install Resolve Studio back onto my HD as my SSD died. everything worked fine then

I am having big issue with audio. as in no output from timeline. I have bluetooth headphones, yes they work. and yes, the audio track in the timeline has audio on it. Setting the mode in manual, I select the headphones then assign the tracks 1 and 2. save. play the time line and no audio at all the audio levels are showing nothing. Go back in and select another source and assign it to 1 and 2, save (but don't resart resolve) play the timeline and audio levels show but no output, Go back in assign the headphones again, assgn them to 1 and 2, save, and again, play the timeline, audio levels show but no output. Resart Resolve. and back to square 1 - play the timeline, no audio levels again, headphones still selected and assigned. NOTHING will get audio to work. Win 10 is fully updated on this HD. the headphones do work. the headphones are the default playback device

Im trying to finish a project - I have a new SSD on order and of course will have to re-install everything all over again then when it come in. But there is no reason resolve should work on a SSD and not a HD

Does anybody have any ideas on how to get the audio to work?

Karl,

try selecting a different audio output, like system speakers or similar, just to eliminate the headphones as a potential cause of your problem.

As long as you have signal in the meters, you haven't muted or dimmed your master output, and your bussing/routing are correct, you should hear audio on your output device.

are you using any audio plugins? I have this same problem, and it is related to Altiverb not working properly in DR, including b6. Atliverb does work in Adobe Audition on the same machine. If I delete the plugin I get out put - with it, no output

I'm having similar issue lately and I found it to be bus routing issue inside Davinci. Namely, when I create Compound Clip consisting of a video clip and two audio clips, I got the same result, as you - there's no audio playing, despite it being show on meters. When I open Compound Clip, the audio plays well. The problem is, upon creating Compound Clip, Davinci doesn't reroute audio tracks inside Compound Clip to to this clip's Bus 1, and therefore they're not audible in my main timeline. Why it does it that way? No idea, but at least it works when I set them up manually on fairlight page. It may be some sort of bug in beta version, but it's just a guess.

I have this bug with 17.2. since I upgraded (from what could have been 17.1 or a sooner Beta).

It is definitely unrelated to Audio plugins (don't have any) and no comp clips in the timeline either.

As I have mentioned in my other post, I have this on two machines, this has to be a Resolve problem.

Same - Landed here after a google search with the same symptoms. Disabled all plugins, tried blank projects...Quite annoying, I'm off to find the wired cable for the headphones...wish me luck.

I don't know about everyone's causes, but in the first post, second picture, there is audio on the channel, but it's not going to the main output bus, so maybe the channel is not assigned to the main bus?

Then this is a bug.

If AUX just works in standard settings, why can't bluetooth?

I have been able to isolate this to a routing problem, or touring possibilities as a better form of describing it, as it is not mis-routed, but lacking options.

Resolve 14.2 (as well as Windows) recognize the Creative Sound Bar. On two machines, no problem.
There is a bus, and level on the main output and a Bus 1.

The problem seems to be that under routing options, I can't tell Bus 1 to go to output. At least there are no outputs listed that I could choose from with routing. That makes sense?
