Proper workflow for audio post?

PostMon Dec 21, 2020 5:19 pm

Hi!

I need help in sending a large project to audio post production, running resolve 17 the protools export works fine however it exports every file exactly the same lenght as its in the timeline and the sound technican needs a few more seconds on every file to be able to fade etc.
Because the timelines are 25 minutes long going in by hand to extend everything is a no go, how could I export extended audio clips easily?

Thanks,
András

There's actually a new forum for version 17 that we're supposed to use.

In the video world these are called "handles" and it usually comes up when saving a project with some kind of media management that doesn't include unused media. (That is, if you save exactly the used media, there's no slack in case you want to move a cut by a couple of frames or lengthen a fade.)

So, non-intuitively for an audio person -- the settings you want are in the Video tab of the Protools Render Settings, at the end of the Advanced Settings: Add ___ frame handles.
Resolve Studio 19 latest, Fusion Studio 19 latest, MacOS Sequoia latest, MacBook Pro M4 Max
