Problem with choppy playback since update

After updating to Davinci Resolve 17 I started having issues with playback on projects that previously worked flawlessly. I tried going back to the previous version but the problems persist. The projects that I never opened in the newer version still work fine though. While trying out various ways to fix the issue I notices that I can't generate optimized media. I get the error message:

"Error encountered during optimized media generate. Canceling...".

I suspect there's something wrong with the accessing data from generated files but I really don't know what to do about it. I've tried deleting it, changing the media storage path and generating the files again but the issue persists.

Give this a good read. It goes over some of the info we'll need to help.

Thanks for the link. I've read everything that seemed relevant to my issue and added information to my signature. I'm not particularly computer savvy so I hope I didn't miss anything important.

I also got the logs in case it's useful: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1jvJ0Vt ... sp=sharing

I've tried creating a new project and copy over my work and I can generate optimized media. It works fine if I set the project to 30 fps, but it's just as awful at 60, even with optimized media and/or Quarter Resolution (proxy mode).

Iw as swrong about the projects I never opened in the newer version being fine. They all have the same problem if I have the Timeline Frame Rate set to 60. It sounds like a performance issue (which is weird since it ran fine before) but after trying a bunch of ways to optimize I still hav ethe same issue and if I do the playback in Edit mode the playback claims to be running at 60 fps when it's clearly not.

Example: https://i.gyazo.com/839f7241f7ca9e39efb ... 597565.mp4

It's not a problem with the files either. I've recorded new clips and I still have the same issues. They looks fine in other programs and when I tell Resolve to render them in a video, but they are really choppy in playback.
