What elements of a project is stored in a database?

(1) If I create a project and import 20gbs of clips into the Media Pool, what is written to the database?
(2) If I create a timeline and add 10gbs of clips from the Media Pool to the timeline, what is written to the database?
(3) If I add effects on the timeline, what is written to the database?
(4) If I deliver all 10gb of clips on the timeline, what is written to the database?

Organizing Projects.

(1) If want want to produce dozens of standalone videos from a 20gb set of clips in the Media Pool, Should I create a separate DB for the project?

Media is not stored in the DB.

The DB contains data to reconstruct the project and timelines, that includes reference stills grabbed in the color page but it fundamentally doesn’t inc source media.

You can easily have 100 projects in a database each with 100 timelines. Make new dB for backup/archive history/management rather than for each little project.

That said, it’s common in Hollywood to make a new DB per feature film, TV series season.
