What does "DPDecoder.app" do?

When I start Resolve, I get the message "Do you want the application "DPDecoder.app" to accept incoming network connections?" and I can choose Deny or Allow.

What is DPDecoder.app used or needed for in DaVinci Resolve?

What happens (or doesn't) if I click "Deny"?

(I searched and could not find the answer. Thanks in advance.)
(Maybes: Could it be that this application is needed to allow communication between multiple machines working on a project? Could it be that if I am a stand-alone worker, denying the application won't have any effect on my work?)

I don't have the answer, but a network connection can also mean an internal connection that allows communication between processes on your computer, without involving other computers on the network. That's pretty common. Resolve has a lot of components and I wouldn't be surprized if that's the case here.

I had a look at DPDecoder and my guess is that it's responsible for decoding R3D, the RED raw format.
