Crashing regularly

Hi guys!

First time user escaping from Premiere Pro but damn - Resolve keeps crashing a lot since the start. It just freezes from time to time in the middle of work. It freezes especially if the program has been minimized for a long time and always if the computer went to sleep.

Any fixes coming? I'm basically back to Premiere now because I can't finish anything.

Please review the FAQs above and report your system details, OS, Resolve version, GPU, GPU drivers etc with logs and NFO, please.

It will freeze or crash if you allow your computer to hibernate or sleep. Like a lot of programs, there are processes in Resolve that do not automatically restart when waking the computer up. You should set the power management of the computer and usb hubs to always on.

I second Charles' advice. An edit system should always be fully powered - all hibernate/sleep/suspend/low power modes should be disabled.

Specs are:

Windows 10
AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 8-Core Processor 3.60 GHz
64.0 GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960
M.2 Boot drive
M.2 Scratch drive
M.2 Storage
Resolve 17.0B (downloaded yesterday)

Also I don't get any type of message like "Software crashed send feedback" options after the crash.

I don't know how and where to find these logs and NFO's?

The only thing I kept from the old PC is the graphics card since my plan was using Premiere which doesn't rely that much on it but I don't see how a graphics card would crash the software. At worst I should experience overall poorer performance because the card is old, right?

It froze just now again in the middle of work after 20 mins of working perfectly.

Thanks for quick answers guys! I really love the product and I hope you can help me :)

As Peter wrote earlier, there is a post here: https://forum.blackmagicdesign.com/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=90190 This contains how to properly submit your crash log. (There is a batch file you must execute which generates the crashlog into your desktop and that needs to be submitted)

I also noticed when my computer starts from sleep/hybernation (even when DR was not running!). So I suggest to reboot your system and work in that way and don't let it go sleep. Always shut down when finished. It's uncomfortable I know, but this is required for stability.
I also noticed, running Firefox or any memory hungry browser in the background (with lot of tabs opened) can have impact on DR. Try to close them as well.
