External Audio Editor destroys automation...

Not really a bug as I can somewhat assume the logic of why it happens, but definitely an annoying feature

When sending a clip of for external editing and returning it to the timeline, with automation follows edit enabled, the new clip erases the current values stored. These are obviously not kept in the old layer beneath either.

Not reproducing this behaviour on macOS and beta 6.

The External Audio Process retains Track-based automation and Clip-based automation is retained on the source Clip placed on the layer below the processed Clip.

Thanks Reynard. I’ll try and replicate with some snapshots after the break.

To confirm. When you pull up the original clip on the bottom layer, the previous automation is restored ?

Thanks!

And track automation? Pan, track eq ? Volume automation? (This is where I hit the snag... didn’t rest clip based attributes if that is what you meant?)

Track-based automation remains in place.

Thanks Reynaud. I tried to recreate this issue at home on my laptop and did not have any luck. Will try again when back in the studio. Was able to see it disappear / appear whilst hitting undo / redo.
