1920x1080 reference image on 2432x1216 timeline

Hi everyone,

I'm dropping a 1920x1080 reference image from a movie onto my 2432x1216 timeline, and then grabbing a still of the ref. image. I'm doing this to color match, and contrast match some of my clips.
Problem is the ref. image is enlarged on my timeline, so I can only see the central part of it. I can still use it, but I'd love to see the whole ref. image.

Any ideas?

Thank you.

Scale down the image before you grab it.

Thanks for answering Jim.

I'm not sure how to scale down the ref image. If you mean resize it in the viewer window, that doesn't work as it's cropped already.

I figured out a work-around: I changed my timeline settings to 1920x1080, then the ref image was fully displayed. Then I took a grab of that, then changed my timeline back to 2432x1216. Clumsy, but it worked.

If you could tell me how to scale down the image as you mentioned, I'd greatly appreciate it!

Thanks.
Simon
