Editing in Resolve for Final Cut user

Just like the title says, I want to edit in Resolve like I edit in FCP(X).
I played around with Resolve a bit years ago, but then ended up working at an office where we were all on Macs, and all on FCP. I'd never really used Macs before then either, but in the last four years have really loved how they work for video editing.
The problems I'm having with Resolve are mainly to do with the way media is handled on the timeline. I've tried to fix some issues myself, but it's tough just figuring out what to search for.
The timeline feels cramped and unwieldly...is there a ways to just have video and audio together instead of seperated? And I keep overwriting audio and video tracks as I move things around. That's probably my biggest issue. Even if I link audio and video tracks together, they don't really seem to link where they'll always move together even if just one of the two is selected. And is there any way to have clips snap together once I delete something in the middle? I learned to press Ctrl+Shift to rearrange clips on the timeline without overwriting them, but what about inserting a clip from the above track to the main track below?
I figure that most of this can be changed with a few options, or is just the way Resolve works (or the way FCCP works, as I figure the magnetic timeline/editing method is still rather polarising).
