Fairlight |Gate submix

Hello guys.

First, my main is edit & color no audio so this is quite a unexplored field for me. So starting from here I have a question/issue.

I have a TL with 2 tracks of dialogue, I group them in to a BUS to manage EQ and NOISE REDUCTION, because I have two scene with same character interacting I like to maintain an audio track for each scene even though is the same character.

I set the EQ for the bus with no problems, yet when I try to assign a EXPANDER or GATE on Dynamics to the same BUS this options are grayed out. I am able to set the COMPRESSOR or LIMITER but I understand better the way how the GATE reduce noise, so I rather that technique over "NOISE REDUCTION" effect.

Any good advice or explanation?

IMPORTANT NOTE
I already assign a NOISE REDUCTION to the BUS and work just fine, this question is to understand better the audio process and the Fairlight/Audio limitations.

I am working on DR16.2.5.015

Thanks guys. ;)

The Fairlight Dynamics Processor only enables the Expander/Gate on Timeline Tracks and not Busses. Version 17 of Resolve has the same implementation.

Either insert a third party plugin on the Buss, or route through a Timeline Track if you want to use the Fairlight Expander/Gate specifically.
