My preference and advice is to make slow motion decisions when you shoot, not in post.

If you want the clip in real time, shoot in real time.

If you want the clips in slow motion, shoot in slow motion.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

when you fist create a project make sure you selecte 30 fps at project settings -> master settings -> timeline frame rate . BEFORE you import andy clip. once you import any clip you can not change that.

when you import clips first with 60 in a 30 timeline it will ask to change the framerate, do not change it.

also if you have your project finished, you might try to create another timeline and unchect use project settings and select 30 and just select all clips and copy-paste them in a new timeline, or if that does not work just select all your clips, everything, select to copy them, open a new project with corect settings and a new corect timeline and paste the clips, it will work if you do not close the program, it will copy the clips, grades, effecte etc from obe project to another

amstrong32 wrote:Hi,
I am using Resolve primarily for my scuba diving videos. I shoot all of my videos at 60 fps - only for the purpose of having the ability to slow down clips if needed. The final rendered clip should be 30 fps.
I have two questions:
In the render screen - I cannot choose frame rate other than 60 fps.. how do I save the final movie at 30 fps?
This brings me to the 2nd question - if I change the frame rate of the individual clip to 30 fps - I am getting slow motion effect - how can I achieve 30 fps at regular speed?
Finally - when I do wish to have a slow motion clip and I change the frame rate to 30 - strangely, the length of the clip is not doubled... why is that? and how should I create a slow motion clip which will have double the length?
I apologies if these are stupid questions... but was not able to find a solution..
Thanks!

Set up the timeline/project at 30fps (your final delivery)
Set the clips at 60fps (as shoot)
Set the retime at [nearest]

When you edit, you will need to speed all the clips you want at normal speed by exactly 200% and th done you want at slow at 100%

The [nearestt] will just skip every other frame keeping realtime without interpolation.
