Lots of crashing

PostSat Dec 26, 2020 3:56 pm

Hi-

I'm getting lots of crashes either on the project manager or soon after I start a project.

I've attached my logs. (I installed 17 on 12/26- anything before that is from v16.)

Intel Core i7 4700MQ (Haswell)
Integrated graphics
8 gb RAM
500 gb SSD

I know these are older specs, but I don't see these crashes on v16 (unless I try to edit 4k).

Intergrated graphics doesn’t help much. Post the nfo and logs as listed in FAQs?

There's not much to say about those logs other than you're running out of memory when compiling OpenCL shaders (i.e. graphics memory).

The problem with integrated graphics is that it has no dedicated memory to itself, but rather shares system memory - so if Resolve uses it all, there's nothing left for the integrated graphics to use (and vice versa). If you can get into Resolve's preferences, System > Memory and GPU, you could try turning down the Limit Resolve/Fusion Memory options significantly, so that Resolve (hopefully) will not use all your system memory. I have my doubts that it'll be enough, but it's worth a try.
HW: AMD Ryzen 9 3900X, 64GB DDR4 3600 CL16 RAM, 3x2TB NVMe SSDs (1xGen4, 2xGen3), 8GB Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070 Super, dual monitor (4k, 1080P)
SW: DaVinci Resolve Studio 17b7, Win10 Pro 20H2, Nvidia Studio Driver 460.89, latest BIOS/chipset/drivers/etc.

I am very enthusiastic about the performance as well as the stability of this BETA version (developer version).
Of course there are bugs that I also find and report but on the whole it works great for me.
