Davinci Resolve 16 - audio pause stuttering

Hi everyone, I have Davinci 16 the Studio version. My audio is pausing randomly and stuttering when I am trying to play it. This is happening on all tabs (timeline, sound tab etc). This makes it impossible to edit. The stutting is only happening to my audio, if I play a clip with only video it runs fine.

Things I have already tried.
- toggling my Speaker configuration to "Use System Setting" and "Manual" (both didn't help)
- my timeline framerate and playback framerate is the same
- resetting to default preferences
- uninstalling and reinstalling the Davinci 17 studio version
- clearing cache

My computer specs:
- GPU: GeForce RTX 2080 Ti
- CPU: Ryzen™ 5 2400G Processor, 3.6GHz w/ 6MB Cache
- Ram: Vengeance LPX 32GB DDR4 3200MHz CL16 Dual Channel Kit (2x 16GB)
- SSD: 960 EVO NVMe M.2 PCIe x4 SSD, 500GB

I didn't change anything and this started to happen all of a sudden. Thanks so much in advance!

What is the source of your video footage?

Thanks Charles. Its a mp4 file. But the stutter is only happening to my audio. If I try to play a clip with just the video, it runs fine.

MP4 is a container, it's what it contains that is important. This is why I asked where it came from. If a phone, which most likely shoots with a variable frame rate, this could be the source of the problem. Many NLEs like Resolve will not play happily with variable frame rate. If it is variable, Resolve is trying to keep the audio in sync by stopping and starting it, hence the stuttering.

I see thank you.

The clips came from my Sony a6400 camera. I tried clips coming from OBS Studio screen record as well. But the thing is I have been editing clips on my Sony camera for a long time and this just started to happen all of a sudden.
