Accidentally replaced the video I was editing by rendering

PostSat Dec 26, 2020 11:20 pm

Hello-
I just was recently subtitling a video and decided to burn in the subtitles by rendering it. I had been writing these subtitles on the video that it prompted me to replace, which I clicked yes without a second thought. I then realized that it deleted my file and left me with just subtitles, and I no longer have the video. The video took 13 hours to edit thus far and in an attempt to get it back I reverted to a previous save which deleted another hour's worth of subtitles. Is there any way to get my video back, or will I have to start over?

If i read correctly, you have deleted your source material? Unfortunately there is no magic button to fix this.

How/where was your source video created? You should be able to reload that project and render it out again.
