Custom fusion generators don't show up in davinci resolve 17

PostSun Dec 27, 2020 3:03 pm

Hi!
I'm trying to save my own fusion generator! I'm saving the macro in "C:\Users\MyUserName\AppData\Roaming\Blackmagic Design\DaVinci Resolve\Support\Fusion\Templates\Edit\Generators" or "C:\Program Files\Blackmagic Design\DaVinci Resolve\Fusion\Templates\Edit\Generators"
But I don't see it in Davinci, even after restarting Davinci, only 4 standard fusion generators!

EDIT! Since beta 8 this problem is resolved! :)

Hi,

I have exactly the same problem on Mac and Davinci Resolve 17 (BUILD 23). I only see (after restarting) my custom generator in the Fusion-Page under Effects/Edit Templates/Generators but not in the Edit-Page under Effects Library/Toolbox/Generators?

i use temporally solution. save my generator as macro. add it to the Effect tab. add the Fusion effect on the timeline. apply my custom effect to the fussion comp. and add this fusion comp+ effect to the power bin. i can fast add it to the timeline and have all i need config on the edit page

Is this supposed to work? I've never seen anything about our ability to add to the default list of effects.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

Yes, it should work just like the Fusion Transitions, Fusion Titles, and Fusion Effects.

it is good, thanks for temporally solution!
But I don't understand, why Blackmagic don't fix this critical bug((

It seems to be hardwired for the 4 names it comes with. If you change the name of one, say the one named Paper, and restart Resolve, it will be gone from the list. If you take a custom one and change it to Paper after renaming the other one, it will show up in the list as Paper but will work like your custom one.

In the screenshot, I renamed the Paper one and it no longer shows in the list.
