Alpha channel of PSDs in Media is broken

PostTue Dec 29, 2020 8:37 am

If you add a PSD with a transparent background to your Media, its alpha channel is incorrect. It looks like Resolve is matting it with white. A PSD in Fusion looks correct if imported via the Fusion > Import > PSD menu, which breaks the PSD down into its layers (rather than using the single Merged "compatability" layer that it appears Resolve uses elsewhere).

As an added bonus bug, a transparent PSD when imported via Fusion's menu command will have a single pixel transparent border on the left-side.

In the attached screenshot and project, the 4 images are of black gradients on the left-side of the image, and white gradients on the right-side. The top half has a linear gradient, and the bottom half has a radial gradient. Each of the 4 gradients in each image has backgrounds of: a solid white strip, a solid mid-grey strip, a transparent strip, and a black strip. Hopefully the image will make that clear...

Specifically look at the black gradients (left-side of the two rightmost images), and how the gradients are wrong when they're over the transparent area.

*edit: It's in my signature, but it's worth saying that I'm running Resolve Studio 17b6.
