ACES blue LED solution

I am surely not the only user of DVR that has come across this problem:

When importing footage of say a concert into a ACES project, the highlights and colored LEDs look off and blown out, severe gamut excursions all over. Not matter what I do I can't get those things to behave nicely. It seems this is happening at the IDT stage.

I do have a solution though, convert to ACES linear and AP0 coloraturas space first and then apply gamut mapping with saturation compression. This works BUT only in a YRGB project.

Trying this, you would find doing this post IDT won't work. So for some time I used YRGB Projects, then
ACES node with IDT to ACES AP0 linear > gamut mapping > color space transform to ACEScc AP1 > the usual grading > CST to linear or LogC > some other stuff > ACES transform ODT to rec709 or whatever

This is the only workflow that gives me complete control and it works ALMOST perfectly. The unfortunate thing however is that I like to use a panel in offset mode. But it behaves completely wrong. In ACEScc it's perfect and WB, Tint and Offset do what they should. But in YRGB all is effed up.

I don't know how all of this could be fixed. I basically need a ACEScc project in every way except it having a linear AP0 stage in the beginning and maybe also the end. Again CST and Node Gamma/CS do not work! I am kinda lost and frustrated, because I have been struggling with this for years.

Acescentral have this in one long thread if you have not looked?

Adding DCTL in media pool should affect it before IDT wothout multi conversion.

Yes, this works. But I feel I get better results with my own workflow as I have complete control over what I actually want to limit. The Fix Neon CTL also messes with luminance sometimes.

After experimenting for a bit I must say I do like my own workflow a lot better in terms of flexibility.

How is it for speed?

You mean as in system performance. It doesn't slow anything down at all.
For workflow it's fine with a prebuilt node tree.
