My database is there but the latest files are missing??

PostTue Dec 29, 2020 6:08 pm

So, emergency time. I've been working on a four hour project for the past two weeks. I periodically save and have just picked up where I've left of every time.

Today, I needed to send the project to a friend because the client needs this in propes. I work on windows so I cannot export in prores but my colleague works on Mac so he can. When I plugged the HDD into his mac the project was there but it was a 10 day old version of the project. didn't have the same timelines or anything.

Basically it's like I haven't saved anything in the past 10 days. the diskdb file is there but not the latest version of my project. The only file I can find with the correct date is a "User" file with todays date. I saved the .diskdb to an external drive with all the footage and such and I save at almost every turn. Is there someway I can recover this?

If u have been opening the project each day it must exist on your machine. If u can open it again on that machine make a project export for the mac

That's exactly was I was thinking. How could it possibly just revert to a version from 10 days ago but it did.

I'm attaching a screen shot and as you can see, the "User" file is up to date but nothing else is. Even the database file doesn't reflect the latest date that I used it.

Is it on another drive?
It’s why we recommend the dB be on a permanent drive.

It is on another drive. I specifically created it on this drive with all the footage and graphics etc. I'm absolutely astonished as to how this could have happened. In my panic I vehemently searched for answers through the forums but it seems I'm potentially the first person with this issue.

I'm shocked beyond reason but I'm assuming I must have messed something up.

I attached a screen of the database file. You can see the date is also very old compared to the previous screenshot where"user" was much newer.
