BUG 17b: Text Effect doesn't read all Fonts Styles

I updated the title- see Text vs Text+ screenshots

I have tried multiple fonts that have "Medium" as an option and they do not render as medium. They turn to "Light". Even in the selection property.

Opening old projects makes all my "Medium" fonts "Light".

I'm on OSX Catalina. Resolve 17b6

I have tried some fonts with family face with medium.
It seem they work fine.
But I noticed the fonts with Black Condensed and Condensed don't seem to be different,
I have to check this with Premier and FCP, It could be a limitation.
I have a screen shot with the font Folio, its had Light, Medium and Bold I did render it and here is the screen shot.
Can you post some fonts names with the issue, I can check them on my iMac,

I tried the Helvetica Neue and Proxima Nova, they looked fine on this viewer, and after rendering as well.
I tried it on Resolve 17 beta 6 build 15, and now just updated to build 18, and they still work fine.
here are a couple of screen shots.
Since you have a mac, open your Font Book, where all fonts reside and look those fonts, if they are validated or any indication of missing or duplicating the light and medium fonts.
Maybe someone else has the same issue will post? Did you try using those fonts from Fusion to see it handles it better? But start from scratch, don't use the one you used in Edit Page.

Ok. Thanks for taking the time to troubleshoot this. This is happening on other machines as well.
I dug a little deeper... its not "medium" per say. Other fonts have other issues not displaying other font styles. It looks like Text isn't pulling all the fonts.

In Text+ effect, the fonts work as expected. But not the Basic Text Effect.

In Text+
I get these options on a default OpenSans font:

Listed Alphabetically in Text+
Bold
ExtraBold
Light
Regular
SemiBold

But in Text - I only get:
Light

Bold

No ExtraBold and No REGULAR!

With the fonts I need for this project, I get the font options "Light", but in Text Effect it reverts to ExtraLight after the selection.

It looks like Text Effect isn't reading the fonts correctly. Kinda a problem for doing Text.

This wasn't fixed in v17?????

Fonts are kinda important. Please address this.
Hint - Premiere reads fonts just fine.

Adobe better have that right, it’s a core competence of theirs

But you are right, typography in DR is incomplete.
