Problems with the ColorChecker Video in Resolve

PostWed Dec 30, 2020 10:23 pm

I just bought the ColorChecker Video from X-Rite. I did my first test shot (sorry for the quality only had my phone). But then realized that something is off. The desaturated yellow and with are swapped. What should I do now??

It's angled and has very uneven lighting. But don't expect too much from that automatic matching anyway. I rarely found it satisfactory even as a starting point. Can be helpful in manual grading nevertheless (if lit properly).
My disaster protection: export a .drp file to a physically separated storage regularly.

Yes, I know that the shot is by no means good but is it still usable with those swapped colours?

And how would I go about manually matching it?

No, don't use it with the wrong matching.
Very basic description:
In the first node, get exposure and contrast right. In a second one, try to get the gray patches neutral with the three color wheels. In another one, observe your vectorscope and see where the colors fall, skin tones in particular.

If you don't know what all this means, learn with the basic tutorials, free from BM.

Okay, thank you. I found a video by X-Rite explaining the manual steps.
