HDR settings for Macbook Pro

Hi!

Is DaVinci Resolve (studio) capable to preview Rec.2020 HLG (iPhone 12 clips for instance) on built-in HDR LCD display of Macbook Pro correctly?

My current settings:
Color science: DaVinci YRGB Color Managed
Color Management Preset: HDR Rec.2020
Output color space: Rec.2020 + REDgamma4 (this combination is the closes to the final render I've found).
Display HDR on viewers if available: checked
Rendered result: 10b HEVC/main10, Rec.2020/Rec.2100 HLG

I'm comparing the viewer output to the QuickTime Player playing the rendered output. The color of those two is quite close but not same.

I even compared FCP render result that matched DaVinci Resolve render. But FCP viewer also matches the rendered result on the contrary to DaVinci viewer.

Any help? Thx a lot.

Simply stated, no computer is proper for accurate viewing of media. You need a dedicated I/O device.

Actually I don't need the accurate colors in absolute manner for my purpose. It would be enough if colors will be consistent for particular display. So I will get the same colors in davinci viewer and final player (quicktime for instance). I assume HDR (or wide color gamut) is handled in OS thus I don't see a reason why two different properly implementetd players should provide different colors for single particular movie clip.
