Hey, I am Trying to start working with Resolve 16, as I have been around a Blakmagic pocket 4K a lot lately. Unfortunatly, I am having a lot of Problems with it. In Fact, if it wasn't for a friend telling me about the capability of the software, I would have already ditched it.
About the Problem now:
When I first installed it, I installed it with a non administrative User, guven permission to install by one, as it's known to be best practice. That ended up, not letting me see the Resolve software itself. After some reading online, i uninstalled it, chaged the User to be administrator, and tried installing it again. It told me, it is already installed, wich wasn't the case. I found, that there were some weird entrys in the Registry left. I deleted th two I could find. To be exact, those were unter Current_User and Local_Machine, and then software > blackmagic.
After that, it installed successfully. It started to work, but as soon as I tried doing some actual Work with it, it crashed without giving me any error massage, it just told me, it stopped. After that, I had to stop its proccess manually, as that was still running, and taking up around 6GB of RAM. Even after a reinstall of the resolve software, and the Chipset, and GPU drivers, it keeps crashing.
The crash-Logs aren't very helpfull to me, as they are just full of weird numbers and the time, it crashed. Maybe someone knows about them? I will try to attach them here.
I first tried it, with the Files on a network share, but changed it over to local, to eliminate any Problems there.
About my System:
Dell Optiplex 7020 containing:
Intel i5-4590 Quad-Core 3,3GHz clock
16GB of mixed 1600MHz DDR3
AMD Radeom HD 5450 GPU
Win10 20H2 64-Bit
Yes, i know, that GPU is way underspec, but its the only thing I have right now, and with 512MB Memory probably better than the onboard. I don't think, that is my Problem, as no components are anywhere near a Limit in Resource Monitor.
Has anybody maybe had simmilar problems, and or knows anything helpfull about this? If so, I would be happy to know about that...
