Multi GPU support

Just curious if I would gain and speed if I had two Nvidia cards in my PC. I currently use the GTX 1080ti, but I could add a GTX980ti if it would help in processing. I have an RX580 that can be replaced with the 980ti.
system:
AMD Threadripper 3960x
Corsair AX1600i PSU
Many NVMe drives and SSD drives for storage. A dedicated 1TB drive for Cache.
128gig RAM, 2x LG 38" 38GN950-B Ultra wide 21:9 monitors, 1x LG 29" ultra wide.
