Ripple delete button on Speed Editor ??

How do I ripple delete on cut page with speed editor? When I press the Ripple Del button it cuts the clip but leaves gap on timeline. So, it does not really ripple delete but only deletes the clip. Strangely the button does ripple delete in Edit page. Is that a known bug or perhaps I am doing something wrong?

I just tried it with a single clip and it worked as expected. I did a mark-in, jogged forward, mark-out, ripple delete. Can you link to a project file along with the media where it is not working?

I tried this again and this time it worked. But I discovered that it only works if there is no audio track (a music) below the video track on the timeline. Surely it should not be like this, or should it? Or perhaps there is a setting somewhere I am not aware of which might need to be changed in order to make it work?? In Edit page though it works correctly whether the audio track is there or not.

I'm having similar problems with the ripple delete button on the speed editor, or the ripple delete menu item. I get a gap on the timeline instead of a ripple. I only have a single audio track - no video.

Sometimes, within the same session, it does work, but I have no idea how to get it to do so reliably.

Same problem here, button ripl del from speed editor, just delete, i try with keyboard shortcut "del" and with the menu and no one works, it just delete not ripple and reduce the gap between 2 cilps. This problem is just in cut page, in edit page it work. I think it's just a bug from beta, need to fix :/ .

Same problem here, except it, used to work well last week on the same project. In the meantime, I only add some audio tracks and make some adjustments on the edit page. Maybe it doesn't like going back and forth edit to cut page, just a thought.

Thought I was going crazy for a minute.

Odd that if you select the same clip with a mouse, then ripple cut the same clip a second time, it does actually remove the deleted section. But until you select the deleted clip with a mouse, the ripple delete won't work.

This was driving me nuts today. This bug is still present in the final release version of 17.0. Blackmagic, please fix.

In the Cut page Ripple Delete only functions on V1. This is by design. On my system Ripple Delete is working with the Speed Editor in the Edit page as well.

I found this tutorial very helpful in understanding the Speed Editor functions and the Cut page.

I also have this problem. I have been having this problem for over a year since I only edit to music! Are they going to fix it? The ripple delete button is useless. Maybe if there was a select clip button right next to it, but there is no button on the speed editor to select the current clip!

I am disappointed that the Speed Editor has been given no love from BMD for years.

It does seem like there should have been at least one update that improved functionality and added more key binding options. It is strange to let such a powerful product sit and collect dust from a developmental point of view.

Ripple delete from the playhead would be an excellent starting point for example!

Still having the same issue Davinci 18.6.5 on the cut page, only when an audio track is below. This is somewhat frustrating since 98.9% of my edits are done to music. I prefer the cut page for my first, sometimes my second pass, but I guess the only solution at this point is to edit do these first cuts in the edit page. Works perfectly there. The new button they added does nothing with ripple delete and speed editor when there is an audio track present. Looking forward to BM getting this update pushed out. It's the small things that make huge differences in workflow. Still my favorite editing software on the planet.
