Beta 6 stuck on looking for control surface

Recently switched from a 1050ti to a 5700XT, which is where my troubles started. When starting Resolve, the loading window gets stuck at "Looking for control surface" and becomes greyed out (aka crash).
Tried installing the free version and it worked perfectly. I did not install control panels on either installation, only the basic Resolve install.

logs (containing both versions):

I'm seeing a solution right there. ;)

Send us the following info:

In a File Explorer window, go to:

C:\Program Files\Blackmagic Design\DaVinci Resolve

and run CaptureLogs

This will place a Resolve log file named similar to this on your Windows desktop: DaVinci-Resolve-logs-20181228_140434.zip (You may not see the .zip extension if your system is set to hide known extensions).

Then open Windows System Information and do a File - Save (Not a File Export), which will generate a .NFO file.

Place both those files on a file sharing site and provide links to the files here.

If you are a new Forum user, you may not be allowed to post URLs. If this happens, just put a space near the front of the URL, so the system doesn't think it's a URL.

Hello! I am having this issue as well, but I have just installed the program and have never used it previously. It is crashing on startup and I just have no idea of what is going on. I have seen a tread of issues with USB, but that is not my case.

Here is a link to the logs and system info https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/ ... sp=sharing

You have an extremely old NVIDIA driver installed. Go to the NVIDIA driver downloads site:

https://www.nvidia.com/download/index.aspx?lang=en-us

Select the Beta and Older Driver link in the lower area. Enter your Product and OS info and click Search.

At the top of the list is the most current driver: 461.09

Don't use that driver. Multiple people have reported issues with it.

Use the next most recent 460.89 driver.

When you run the downloaded driver install app, select the Custom option, and then select to do a Clean Install.
