First. I am a newbie so I could have made any number of mistakes but...

I just finished making a Chorus video 27 video tracks plus title/ credits in DR 16. 24 fps. 00:03:41 run time. I did the final render and it took 02:06:03.

I figure, good time to upgrade. I backed up the database, downloaded DaVinci_Resolve_17.0b6_Windows and started the install. I got a GPU Configuration Warning.
"DaVinci Resolve is using OpenCL for image Processing because the installed NVIDIA driver does not support CUDA 11.0. Upgrade your NVIDIA driver for optimal performance. Alternatively you can manually select OpenCL Processing Mode to run in the current configuration."

So I installed the latest drivers for my Geoforce RTX 2060 and chose "Projects" over "Gaming". That went well and I did the required reboot.

DR installer sailed past the GPU Configuration. I was able to update the database and open my last project immediately. As a test, without any modifications to the project, I re-rendered the project. I was hoping for some significant reduction in render time. A few seconds in, when it got to 27 videos playing simultaneously it slowed to a crawl. For the next hour I watched the percent complete AND the time remaining creep up. This was my experience in 16 so so far no change. I never witnessed 'time to complete' up over an hour but the 'percent complete' increased very slow.

Here is where things take a strange twist. I leave it rendering and come back to check it 8+ hours later. It shows 70% complete with 35 minutes remaining. I swear I am not imagining this. A very few minutes later I come back and it says the job is complete and it took 02:03:30 give or take 29 seconds. Windows explorer confirms that the file was created at 01:11 am and last modified at 03:14 am. The rendering is complete and same quality as before.

I don't actually need any assistance. (well I do want to see what I can do about actual render time but that is another topic.) I just wanted to honor the beta status of DR 17 and contribute.
