Will drop frame in Resolve allow to perfectly sync cameras?

PostSun Jan 03, 2021 8:19 pm

Hello.

I am planning to record on multiple cameras. The problem is that my cameras output 59.94 and 60fps. Will I be able to get perfect sync using drop frame checkbox in Resolve and 30fps LTC timecode generator.

Thanks.

Drop Frame is a Timecode thing. It doesn't alter playback speed.

My view based on two decades experience:

For best Multicam results, all cameras should be the same make and model and use identical settings.

Cameras of a different make/model can often be used, if they offer the same settings.

Cameras that don't offer the needed settings should not be used.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.
