DaVinci Resolve crashes after splash screen

PostMon Jan 04, 2021 6:42 am

Hi there!

I have an Arch Linux install that I'm trying to get Resolve to run under. It almost runs, but, it eventually crashes after the splash screen. I've attached a crash dump here, as well as my specifications.

Crash dump: https://pastebin.com/3pHM60zh
Specifications:
AMD Ryzen 7 2700 @ 3.2 GHz
16 GB RAM @ 3200 MHz
Radeon RX 580 @ 8 GB

I have tried to install the appropriate drivers, but I'm just not sure if they are installed. Thank you!

From the log you attached, it looks like it can't find your GPU or CUDA or OpenCL isn't available. What GPU and kernel version are you using? If using Linux kernel 5.9, you might need to downgrade (e.g. use `linux-lts`) because of the Nvidia GPL shim issue.

Code: Select all
DaVinci Resolve could not find any OpenCL capable GPUs. Would you like to review and update your DaVinci Resolve Hardware Configuration? ||Please ensure that appropriate GPU drivers are installed and your DaVinci Resolve hardware is configured appropriately.

I have a Radeon RX 580 and I am currently running kernel version 5.4.86-1 lts. I tried to make sure that I have the proper drivers installed, however, I am not 100% sure. Installing amdgpu-pro-libgl would just cause a black screen, and although I did have opencl-amd and opencl-amdgpu-pro-pal installed, I don't think it helped. If you have other ideas on what I can do, I'm happy to try them out!
