Metadata View ignores Clip Name

PostMon Jan 04, 2021 6:46 am

In R17b6 the User Manual indicates that the Metadata View in the Media Pool should show the CLIP NAME rather than file name. This is not working. Clip Name is ignored in Metadata View and Thumbnail View. It IS showing in the Metadata Panel and Column View, as expected.

Can you check if View > Show File Names is checked?

The list view has two separate columns for file name and clip name... so there's no confusion. The other two views show one or the other depending on this setting.

Is that the same problem as this? : viewtopic.php?f=36&t=130887
I added the fact that I can't edit the clip name from any elements except the timelines

Thank you. You are correct.
I must say it's a strange place to have that option and it's not mentioned in the User documentation where the Media Pool view info is described.

THANKS! It cleared my problem too
I'm curious, is this option activated by default in the 17 version? I'm asking because I never had an issue like this with 16 (meaning it was off, or I changed at some point with 16), so I was so used to be able to raname clips (in thumbnails view) so I was sure it was an issue when I installed 17.
