8 GB Vram not enough for object removal or speed warp on 4k

Resolve 17.6 beta studio version, 4k timeline with 3 nodes (1 for lut and two for the object removal) and it throws gpu errors or if you render it get stuck with no error but never finishes.
Same for speed warp.
Seems anything a bit more complex than basic color correction will not render in 4k

On a 2k timeline it works.

i9 10980HK, GTX 2070 Super 8 GB VRam, 64 GB ram.

Tried with both game and studio latest Nvidia driver

So is 8 GB GPU ram not enough for 4k timeline?

Try the Object Removal alone and export that out to a Cineform or DNx clip for further use.

It has been a constant problem since DR16. It has something to do with DR + NVidia GPUs.

My setup is similar, and I discovered the same thing. It seems that 4K needs at least 12G. So, I guess I'll just send out 1080p, which needs only about 6 and a half, for the time being. Optical flow and speed warp are real killers, but the final output is so silky smooth...

Ideally they should find a way to at least render it, I don't mind editing at lower res but rendering it should be at least 4k with 8 GB VRam. I cannot imagine how much vram you would need to use these feature on 8k or 12k timeline!!!

But the bar minimum is at least to throw an error and recover and not simply stop rendering. Is super annoying that every try you need to kill resolve and restart. Not really a good error handling implementation.

I also get random out of gpu memory errors, you restart and suddenly it works. Many others have this issue and is time to fix it now.
