Fairlight BUG - Bounce Audio Effects broken

PostTue Jan 05, 2021 1:55 am

When I add an audio effect to a clip, then right click on the clip and select "Bound Audio Effect", the software correctly bounces it to a new layer but when I hit space bar to play, it won't play. (And on further testing it seems as though the keyboard doesn't work for anything in the program, even though the mouse still does). The work around is I have to jump to a different program on the mac then come back into Resolve and now the space bar and keyboard will again function till I bounce another audio effect.

Is this issue present with both third party plugins (AU or VST) and native Fairlight AFX?

It may assist pointing to a specific or a set of plugins that exhibit this issue in order to reproduce.

Is this issue also present after caching audio effects?
Fairlight Studio Console 3 Bay • Merging Hapi • Anubis • Merging Premium VAD (3.4.0) ↔︎ Lawo VSC (1.0.0)
Mac Pro 7,1 Rack • Resolve Studio 19.1.3 • macOS 14.7.3 (23H417) ➩ 11" iPad Pro (M4) 1TB • iPadOS 18.3 (22D63)

So far I am noticing the issue with two different 3rd party AU plugins sets (specifically from Acusonus' ERA 5 bundle and effects from CrumplePop). I tested it with the built in Fairlight Noise Reduction AFX plugin and I did not see the same behavior.

(It feels like the bounce is causing Resolve to open another application. And even though the screen is still showing the Resolve screen, the computer thinks another application is running (the name of the program next to the Apple menu always says "Resolve" so its not actually launching a new program, it just feels like that).
