J and L cuts in the Cut Page

How can I do J and L cuts in the Cut Page?
I found this on youtube
But I am wondering if this will be different in Resolve 17 or eventually in 18?
If I use the workaround mentioned above, in the Edit page will I still lose the separation of tracks when I add a clip to the timeline like in version 16 as mentioned in the youtube video?
Also will I be able to do J and L cuts on the Cut Page with the new Speed Editor?
