Version used: DVR 17b6

User of the STUDIO version of your DaVinci Resolve software, I have a problem with the export of the montage.

If I export my project in DNxHR format for example, it works without problems. On the other hand, if I use the settings to export for example for youtube, whether in MOV format or in MP4 format, the file is corrupted and unreadable. So, since I can no longer go back to version 16 without losing my data (I mounted my whole project in version 17 directly and I did not save my database from my version 16 before migrating .. .), I export my project to DNxHR then I transcode it to H264 format with another software. This is not ideal but while waiting for the stable version 17 to be released, it allows me to work.

For the rest, I haven't seen any other difficulties yet.

You are doing the right thing! I've done this for years.
Several reasons:
– You get a master in full quality.
– External solutions like handbrake with x264 have better fine-tuning and deliver better quality.
– Who knows what will be the next hype for a delivery format?

BTW, quite soon we may have the possibility to export with external solutions out of 17.

Upload the DNx file. Don't convert to H.264 first.

Using the new x264 plug-in for Resolve, the Native/Best setting is actually giving me slightly better quality than CQ 16 from x264.

That's pretty damn good quality!

(Though I do admit the possible tweaking for the plug-in is...limited.)
