Database lost

I have on external drive the folders "CacheClip" and "Resolve Project Backups".
My root drive in which the DaVinci Resolve Database was included is damaged.
I re-installed the DaVinci Resolve Studio 16, but now the new Database is of course empty.
Can I restore my projects somehow from the saved folders ex. "Resolve Project Backups" ?

What s the best way to have all the necessary stuff on external drive?

I think it's best to work exclusively from internal drives. I recommend a five drive setup as a starting point.

Resolve project backups can be restored from the database manager, as explained in the manual. .If you run into trouble it can also be done manually.

I would ignore recommendations of where to put what (do what suits you and your system), though external drives are not a good choice for caching and databases, because they tend to disconnect.

It's completely unnecessary to put databases on dedicated drives, unless they're huge. A dedicated drive for caching could also be a waste. It depends on how you work and the amount of caching you do.

In Resolve Preferences - User - Project Save and Load - Save Settings - Project Backup Location, select your external drive, or wherever the backups are located.

Save the prefs and restart Resolve.

In the Project Manager page, right click on an empty spot in the Projects area (should be easy if you have no projects) and select "Other Project Backups".

That should show you whatever backups are available in the backup location.
