Playing H264 .mp4 Files on Resolve Studio.

Hi,

Before I purchase Resolve Studio, I would like to know if it can play/accept a particular type of H264 .mp4 file. I have to deal with many of these files and I'm hoping to find editing software that can handle them (without me having to use a utility to convert them).

I have tried the free version: It will not play these files. But I noted in this forum that the paid version can deal with many more codecs than the free version. I'm happy to buy but only if Resolve Studio will play these files.

I hope that someone with Resolve Studio will try to play this short video. Here is a link to the video:

Sorry for the bad news, but that format will not work as is in Resolve, not even Studio. It has an invalid file extension and the uncommon rate of 20 fps.
Re-wrapping will help, which is faster than transcoding. After re-wrapping it to .mov, I can play it on the free version on a Mac.

If you're getting a lot of non-standard media, then something like ShotCut might serve your needs better than Resolve.
