Can't import audio that's short

This happens on v17.6b

This must be a bug or something but when importing audio to resolve, if it's to short. It changes the audio to a clip of nothing. Say If you have a click or a beep that's really short. The program interprets it wrong or something. And it happens when I drag from finder and also if I'ved indexed it to a library in Resolve. Resolve recognizes it in the sound library tab and even displays the correct waveform when draging it onto the timeline. But when I drop it on, it transforms it to a blank clip with another time..

How is the Clip placed on the Timeline - manual drag-drop or via the Sound Library Panel's Audition or Confirm options?

Is the Elastic Wave process automatically applied to the Audio Clip once placed on the Fairlight Timeline?

Are you able to provide a sample file?

I've tried drag and drop from finder and drag it from the sound library tab, after I've indexed it there. Is there another way?

Yes here's a file that resolve changes to a blank clip with nothing in it.
Don't know how to add a wav file here in the forum. It says that the extension wasn't allowed but I made a WeTransfer link. Does it work?

Command+drag-drop from the Media Pool.

That solved the problem:) Do you know what it does differently when you, command+drag and drop it, from when you drag it from the sound library index or from finder?

Command + drag media = place media on separate Timeline Tracks

Command + Shift + drag media = place media at embedded Start Timecode position

I tried opening it without success. It is a 24bit 96khz file which may have a bearing on the problem .

Resolve does not have an issue with 96k source media as it supports all LPCM rates up to 384k.

I find the file plays fine on the Media page, or in the Source Viewer on the Edit page.

When I add it to the timeline, it's a much longer blank clip.

The file does look to be only milliseconds in duration, less than one full video frame even. I can see where that might be an issue.

Open it in an audio app and save out a new version at least 1 second long.

The supplied clip edits to the timeline ok if you load into the source monitor, then edit into the timeline. It seems to be an issue for dragging from the Media Pool directly to the timeline.

It does work when draging it while holding "command" from the media pool (strange maybe?). A workaround that feels very bad when working with sound in an audio environment (DAW). And it's really time consuming having to go to another DAW to make it a workable length

What if you need multiple short sounds to create something new, or if you want to use multiple short audio snippets to follow the animation of a text

I would create all those clips with at least one second duration.
