I have really fallen in love with ACES color management, however, I am noticing a weird phenomenon.

When balancing Slog3/Sgamut3.cine footage, the white balance controls are skewing colors in a weird way whereas using offset is more... normal. I can also recreate this using Arri footage, where the same settings on controls provide different results.

This skewing of the blue here, apparently occurs when using the ACEScct color management option in Resolve, but does not occur when using ACES OFX transforms with a node based color management workflow.

I have included images that show the issue. Unfortunately I am only allowed to upload 3 images so I am hoping these two are enough to show the the problem I am having. I am assuming there is a bug somewhere in the ACES color management operations? Or is it wrong to assume the controls should be working exactly the same way with temperature controls?

Also, I do not have "Use Color Space Aware Controls" turned on.

That was my first thought.

That said, I would expect the same control to work the same whether ACES is accessed via Project Settings or via CST nodes.

I agree, and I understand the controls won't work the same if you are working in different color spaces, but the node workflow in my understanding should provide the same results since it is supposed to be simply a node version of what the color management settings do... and you are working in ACEScct in both workflows here...

If this isn't the case, I am curious to know why the Temperature controls operate this way in the ACES color management version. It does not look correct to me that blue skews purple like this.
