shift timecodes by a given value

I've just started editing from a trip I got back from, and I've realized that the time for one of my cameras was off by quite a large amount.

I still haven't changed it back, so I know exactly how far off the time code was.

what I want to know is, is there a way to change the start timecode for a bunch of clips by a set amount, in one hit? to add a certain amount of time to the start TC of every clip from this camera?

You can change the settings in the Timecode tab of Clip Attributes, but I don't know if that'll work for several clips at once.

I think I found a way for you:

- Calculate the offset in frames from the timecode difference taking framerate into account. (I was able to find a simple timecode to frames calculator online omnicalculator)
- Select all the files from that camera, right click, and select "Add into media pool with offset."
- Enter the offset in total frames (positive or negative number of frames).

With luck they will all be added into the pool with a single step with the correct timing.
Hope this helps!

I'll give that a try tomorrow, that sounds promising. that will be a hilariously large number of frames, but the maths is fairly simple.

Thanks for the help.
