Fairlight BUG - Audio won't play in new timeline tracks
Firstly, I'm assuming this is a bug, but it very well could be me not knowing something.
Heres the situation:
Often when I make a new audio track (stereo or mono) in the timeline, it refuses to play the clip. (The playhead moves, the meters show there's audio, but its as if the volume is turned to -100 dB).
Here are the steps I take (all inside Fairlight):
1) I make a new bin in the media pool and drag in a known working stereo track from the Finder. I verify it plays correctly in the media pool (I can see its waveform and hear it playing in the media pool player).
2) I create a new audio track by right clicking and selecting "Add Tracks..." (I am careful to tell Fairlight, where exactly to add the new track and if its Mono or Stereo).
3) I then drag the media clip from the bin into the new audio track. I can see the waveforms when I expand the track, and when I hit play, the track meters bounce around as they should.
HOWEVER, I hear no audio when I solo the track. (and no the mute button is not on)
4) I go into "clip attributes" to see if somehow the clip of the tracks are weird but everything checks out (2 tracks in a stereo music clip and they are correctly assigned. The clip as well as the tracks agree that they are all stereo).
5) I double check to make sure that the clip in the track is enabled. It is. And I double check the inspector and see the Volume slider is set to 0.
6) I play and solo other tracks. They all play correctly so I know the computer and Fairlight audio output works.
So WHY won't the clip play????
(A workaround I have found is to make a brand new stereo track and then drag the clip from the non-playing track to the new track. It sometime works.)
Its annoying. Is there something I am not doing properly when I import a clip into the timeline?
Thanks.
David
