Since getting my RTX 3070 graphics card, I have been plagued with an unstable Davinci Resolve.
I have the Studio version and I'm running Version 16 because Version 17 is too unstable.
To night I installed the latest Nvidia driver for my RTX 3070 version 461.09. When I restarted Resolve Studio 16 after the driver update resolve immediately crashed and sent an error report to Black Magic Design.
I am using version 16.2.8.005 In the minutes after restarting Resolve 16 I have failed to render two attempts at a h.265 codec project. Right now I am trying to render a h.264 project. It is stuck on 1% with a render time clock of 14 hours and rising.
before the Driver update, the same project which is only 3minutes and 45 seconds long took 30 minutes to render.
Resolve 17 Studio is just too unstable with an RTX 3070.
AND NOW RESOLVE 16 IS COMPLETELY UNSTABLE WITH THE LATEST DRIVER UPDATE FOR RTX 3070.
I AM GETTING EXCEPTIONALLY FRUSTRATED WITH HOW UNSTABLE MY STUDIO VERSION OF RESOLVE IS GETTING WITH EACH NEW DRIVER UPDATE.
I HAVE STARTED SEVERAL TOPICS YET THINGS ARE DETERIORATING.
WHAT IS GOING ON?

I have once more completely wiped my C Drive clean and installed a fresh copy of the Window's 10 operating system. I have slowly installed all my applications one at a time including Resolve version 16.2.8.005
I have also discovered that the GPU drivers for my RTX 3070 include NVIDIA Audio Drivers. I am confused as to why a graphics card would need audio drivers. I discovered this puzzling bit of information before I wiped my computer clean.
During the re-install Window's 10 chose to install NVIDIA Drivers version 457.51. I ensured that the NVIDIA audio drivers were removed.
Everything was working normally with Resolve. I was able to render in h264 and so far a single project encoded with h265.
With these positive results I made a backup of my Operating System using Acronis. I then installed the latest NVIDIA driver 461.09 dated 7th January 2021.
I immediately started with error messages when Resolve started. At first Resolve would not start and I had to re-boot my computer. I then ran into the dredded GPU vram full on re-boot of my computer. resolve would freeze and become incredibly frustrating to use because it kept freezing, even switching between features such as editing and fairlight.
After all this frustration, I rolled my Operating System back to before the Driver Update and everything returned to normal.
I am seriously considering buying a second-hand previous generation NVIDIA card just because they are more stable with Davinci Resolve.
Surely I CAN NOT be the only person who is having problems with the new NVIDIA graphics cards?
