Having text appear sequentially

I'm not sure if this is the right forum, but I want to make words of a sentence appear one...after...another with a slight pause in between.

Money, Car, Horse, Truck.

Something like that, but a bit more coherent :)

Only way I can figure out how to do this is to create new text layers on the timeline, then stack them, and move the text position one by one. Very tedious, and one slight change messes up the layout, so I have to tweak all the words so they line up correctly. Is there an easier way to do this?

I would have bet money Resolve had a Write On effect, but I can't find it.

Keyframing Crop for the title would do it.

Ahhh just knowing it's called "Write On" effect helped me find some Youtube videos. Thanks so much!

After looking at a ton of videos, I can't find a single one that allows me to fade in each word. Guess I will have to do it by hand.. XD

You can use the follower modifier in fusion to achieve this

Here is some basic example:

1. Select the Text+ node in fusion
2. Go to the inspector, right click on the text box and select "Follower"
3. Go to the modifiers tab, set the delay parameter of the follower to 3 (or whatever you want)
4. Go to the transform tab of the follower and set the transform parameter from "Characters" to "Word"
5. Make sure that the playhead is at the beggining, add keyframes to X and Y size paramaters and set both to zero
6. Move the playhead forward 20 frames (or whatever you want) and set X and Y to 1.0
