Media not playing after leaving idle?

I'm brand new to DaVinci coming from Premiere. I have imported my media, and was simply watching it and marking ins and outs, took a break and came back to continue but the media player window has no image, hitting play results in nothing, double clicking on any other media results in the same thing, and image thumbnails that were once there are no longer but only for some.

It seems that this issue was caused by the following:
I have two graphics cards build into my 2019 Razer Blade Mercury White (GTX 2070 Max-Q and Intel UHD-Graphics 630). It seems the HDMI port on this device is set to utilize the Intel card, which is my external monitor. Thus DaVinci can't run the playback when I move the window over there, then click on a new video to scrub. Nor can it if I open DaVinci on that window.
On one hand, I can understand that a lower quality graphics card would struggle with playback, but that graphics card is absolutely capable of running playback. For example, I have no problem in Premiere, or any other application for that matter.
So, this is a temporary workaround, but not a solution. Because now I can't use my external monitor for playback. Seems like a bug to me.

If you can, disable the Intel GPU and just use the 2070 with any monitors attached to that GPU.
