Speed Editor User Manual

PostSat Jan 09, 2021 6:19 pm

Hello, I just bought a Speed Editor. I cannot find the user manual on the website https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/welcome/en. Can anyone tell me please where I can get the user manual and official video tutorials?

The Speed Editor only works in Resolve 17. The full manual for v17 is a work in progress as it's still in beta but there's a section on the Speed Editor in the "New Features Guide" which you find in Resolve by going to Help > Davinci Resolve Reference Manual.

Thanks for the info, but I am a bit confused.

Do you mean to say that the Speed Editor itself doesn't have any manual, and that is covered within the Davinci Resolve's manual?

Yes, I assume because it can only be used in DaVinci Resolve, just like the Color panels.

Yeah, I have checked the manual, and there is a dedicated section for Speed Editor. Enough to understand as it is not super complex. I just need some practice to get hands-on it.

Thanks a lot... :)

Hello,

as a newbee in this forum i have a first question about Speed Editor.

Today we received our new Speed Editor and found a notice, that there is no longer a SD-Card with Documentation and Drivers. Where can we find this? The option over "Help - Davinci Resolve Reference Manual" anf "Find - Speed Editor" shows No-Results!

We use Davinci Resolve Free 17.0 Build 39

As we have connectet the speed editor to our surface-PC windows comes up and show "installation" Dialog. But on speed editor there is no reaction, no LED or other signs to see he's alive.

Can someone help us to start up with speed editor?

Thanks in advance,
Volkmar

Download the latest version of DaVinci Resolve here: https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/support/family/davinci-resolve-and-fusion

The current version is v17.2.2 and in its manual there's a chapter about the Speed Editor (chapter 33). Resolve also comes with the latest firmware for the Speed Editor (in the DaVinci Control Panels Setup app).

You can also download just the manual from the same link, but that's a newer manual than the version you have installed.

The User Manual link is broken.
They show a PDF for the speed editor, but upon clicking on the link it actually downloads Davinci Resolve 18.6 user manual, which had zero mentions of "speed editor".

I found the file after too much digging:

Your link just goes the Speed Editor product page. There is no specific Speed Editor manual.

It is indeed described in detail in the 18.6 Resolve Reference manual:

Chapter 49 - Using the DaVinci Resolve Speed Editor and Editor Keyboard

Starting on page 956.

Control panels seem to have been removed from the DaVinci 19 manual. The advanced panel got his own dedicated manual. Does this mean we can expect separate manuals for the Speed Editor, Replay Editor and Editor Keyboard as well?

Just copy and print to pdf: https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/ca/pro ... e/keyboard

Format your screen window and you will get about 24 letter size pages.

If anyone needs it, I've extracted just the Speed Editor and Editor Keyboard pages from the DR User Manual and made them available for download via my Dropbox account. Here's the download link: https://tinyurl.com/SpeedEditorManual
